Product Description

What is Alenia 12/400 used for?
Alenia is indicated for the improvement and control of shortness of breath in patients with bronchoconstriction (partial closure of the bronchi caused by a contraction of the bronchi) or bronchospasm (contraction of the bronchial muscles causing partial closure), in patients who have bronchial asthma, a disease that causes a decrease in the ability to breathe properly.

How do I use Alenia 12/400?
Remove the cap from the inhaler.
Hold the base of the inhaler and, to open it, lift the mouthpiece in the direction indicated by the arrow on the side of the mouthpiece.
Open the bottle.
Remove the capsule without touching it with your hands, using the bottle cap as shown in the picture.
Place the capsule in the inner compartment at the base of the inhaler.
Close the bottle and close the inhaler. It is important that the capsule is only removed from the bottle immediately before using the inhaler.
Press the front button on the inhaler all the way down to puncture the capsule. Then release the button.
Exhale as much air from your lungs as possible.
Place the inhaler mouthpiece in your mouth and close your lips around it. Tilt your head slightly downwards (approximately 45°). Inhale quickly and as deeply as possible. You should hear a vibrating sound as the capsule rotates in the inner compartment, releasing the medication.

Note: If you don't hear the capsule spinning, it may be stuck. In that case, open the inner compartment again, remove the capsule, and repeat the procedure.
Hold your breath while mentally counting to 10 (approximately 10 seconds), then remove the inhaler from your mouth. Next, breathe normally. Open the inhaler and check if there is any powder residue left in the capsule. If there is still powder, repeat steps 4 through 8.
After use, open the inhaler, remove and discard the empty capsule. Close the mouthpiece and replace the cap.
Alenia should be used according to the prescription given by the doctor, which should be in accordance with the severity of the disease. Once asthma control is achieved, the dose should be adjusted to the lowest dose that allows for effective symptom control; this adjustment is called Regular Maintenance Treatment.

When should I not use Alenia 12/400?
Alenia should not be used by people who are allergic to any of the following components of the medication:
Formoterol fumarate dihydrate, budesonide, and lactose monohydrate.
Budesonide is also contraindicated in patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis.
This medication is contraindicated for children under 6 years of age.
