What is Dexamethasone Acetate used for?

This medication is intended for the treatment of inflammatory and pruritic (itchy) skin conditions, including eczema (lesions in skin folds, with itching and secretion), seborrheic dermatitis (red and moist lesions in areas such as the face or neck), and neurodermatitis (dry and well-defined skin lesions).

How to use Dexamethasone Acetate?

Clean the affected area thoroughly before application.

Apply a small amount of dexamethasone acetate to the affected area 2 or 3 times a day. Avoid unduly vigorous application. For application in the ear, use a pointed applicator. Using a cotton pad , spread a layer of cream 2 or 3 times a day.

Occlusive (closed) dressings may be applied to patients with psoriasis (a skin disease) or in cases resistant to simple treatment.

Follow your doctor's instructions, always respecting the times, doses, and duration of treatment. Do not interrupt treatment without your doctor's knowledge.

When should I not use Dexamethasone Acetate?

You should not apply dexamethasone acetate if you have tuberculosis of the skin, chickenpox, fungal infection, or herpes simplex. Do not use if you have a known history of hypersensitivity (allergy) to any of the components of the formula. Do not apply to the ear if there is a perforation in the eardrum. Do not use this medication for eye problems.
